The group Identified stones brought in by a guest as well as looked at some gorgeous tourmaline faceting stock  brought in by a new member that  he found  rock hounding at mines while living in California.
Judy, Jim and Steve reported on the Midwest Federation  annual meeting recently attended. The host was the Toledo Rock and Gem Club. Our club won two Mica awards. This is an award for the greatest gain in new members, Awards won were 1st in adult membership gains and 2nd  in juvenile membership gains.
Judy indicated that the club was to vote for this year's officers for the MWF. As all candidates are running unopposed,  incumbents or in the case of the president, moving up the chain from vice president positions,  Judy, Jim and Steve, having met all recommended the club vote for each.  There were no objections.
Program- the group watched a video - Opal cutting made easy By Paul Downing, one of the most renown opal cutters and instructors in the US, if not world. While a good program, most who have had instruction or attempted opal cutting expressed some differences of opinion or experience.
 The Meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted, SteveBostwick
